January 3, 2010 - I know what you are thinking, I can't possibly be in good enough shape to run a marathon, but who said anything about running..today's marathon has to do with my fingers and vocal cords. How long and how fast can my fingers type or dial and how long before I lose my voice while I am letting everyone know that I am a grandma today again for the 4th time. Oh yeah, and my daughter is a mom for the first time (just a small detail). I have always said if you want someone to know something there are three ways to get the word out. 1) Telephone, 2)Telegraph, and 3) Tela Grandma. In case you are wondering, we have a baby boy, Cooper, 6 lbs 7oz, and 20 inches long, born by C-section. Mom, Dad and Cooper are doing well. I am so pumped I really do feel like I could run a marathon, instead, I will continue to let my fingers do the walking.
One note of interest. I thought that after working out for 7 days, I would begin to notice some changes in my body. Something small, anything, that told me all the work was worth the effort. Turns out I can't see anything. I am still sore, still can't reach my toes, and still work up a sweat walking over to the gym. The only changes so far are I now have real workout clothes, shape up gym shoes, a sporty gym bag and several tubes of 'icy hot' to ease all the pain.
